Beautiful Mess.

I get inspired by things that I encounter on a daily basis. I believe anybody who has any creative juices flowing throughout their body does. A lot of the times my prints are inspired by things I hear people say throughout my day. If I hear somebody say something catchy- I usually quickly take note of it since I tend to be somewhat of a forgetful person. (shocking I know!)

This print was inspired by the feeling I use to get when walking into OBUs Art Building. This building is one of the oldest on campus and looks it. When you walk through the doors it doesn't look like anything special until you hit the 2nd floor, the art department. The rooms are filled with messy floors with paint splattered all over the place and walls filled with ripped up paper used for drawing and sketches. Its a mess- but to the right eye...Its a beautiful mess. :)

If you know me- you know I have a sick obsession with coffee. Mainly Starbucks coffee. I have tried again and again to switch over to the generic stuff they have at my office- but I just can't do it. To me to tastes like dirt. So if you have any suggestions to amazing coffee blends that don't break the bank- im all ears. This phrase "Decaffeinated Coffee is the Devils Blend." actually came from a quote I found online one day while searching for other alternatives to Starbucks coffee (see people, I try!!) This quote is so true though. On days when I don't have caffeinated anything- I feel like I drag and my day turns out to be nothing but nice.

This poster was inspired by my brother Brandon or as I like to call him my "red headed hippie" or my
"little free spirit". Brandon is somebody who doesn't follow the crowd. He knows what he believes in and sticks by it- no matter what the cost. It's an attribute that I sometimes wish I had. Brandon dares to be different everyday and I love it. :)

What inspirers you?

Wedding Day Hair.

Today I am going to get my hair done to try and figure out what "look" im wanting to do for my wedding day. For a girl - what your hair looks like on your wedding day a big deal. For 23 years I have had my fair share of bad hair moments but Oct. 21, 2011 will not be one of them.

Here are some looks I might be rocking on my big day.

{Rainy cloud hair}
They say its good luck when it rains on your wedding day- So why not have a rain cloud over your head all day?

{Just got out of the shower hair}
Every girl loves the feeling of throwing your hair up in a wet ponytail after a shower or dip in the pool...so why not bring that lovely feeling with you on your big day?

{the zig zag part is making a comeback hair}
Don't act like you never did this....
 Some of my best years were spent rocking the zig zag part so why not incorporate it on my wedding day while frying my hair with over hairsprayed curls??

{Dont stick a paperclip in the outlet hair}
Its artsy....right?

{Grow a Garden in your hair...hair}
Accessories in the hair have become a big trend lately. Girls rock the feathers or small diamond bobby pins placed in certain parts of there up-do but why stop there? Why just have flowers in your hand when you can carry an entire garden down the aisle?

{I promise im 18 and legal hair}
I think I enjoyed wearing pig tails so much in the EEE Tiger Tunes Show my senior year that im thinking of rocking the same hairdo. I've always liked ribbons so that helps.

:) hope you enjoyed.

Ode to my hippie brother.

Happy 20th Birthday Brandon!

{How cute...we match. Thanks mom.}

Its hard to believe that my little brother is turning 20 today!! In my head he should still be the short chunky red headed kid who plays with Pokemon cards and does Karate! haha (he might kill me for saying that!) Right now Brandon and my dad are on a three day backpacking trip through the Grand Canyon for his spring break. Now some of you might be thinking that hiking through the Grand Canyon isn't really much of a relaxing vacation....but to Brandon...it is. He is my little free spirit hippie and I love him for it!

{This is us at Rosemary Beach a few years back! It's one of my favorite pictures of us!}

{This is Brandon and his lovely girlfriend, Karis. I like her. :)}

{Brandon is also a model part time....haha jk jk...but isn't he handsome?!}

It's somebodys birthday today!!! :)

This week is birthday week for me! So many wonderful people in my life have birthdays in March!! And today is Amys birthday!!! Sooooo....

Happy Birthday to my best friend Amy Lynn Wentz!!! I love you!!!!! Right now Amy is in the beautiful state of California with Kate on her birthday and I am SUPER jealous. She says that if you don't get a Spring Break....make your own!

Amy and I first met our freshman year when we both pledged EEE! She has stuck by my side through thick and thin (Eyebrows that is!) and been my biggest fan and supporter through everything! Today is her special day so show her some love on her blog All Things Girl!

(Amy and I on graduation day....If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be wearing that cap and gown!)

(This is us LAST year on our senior year PC Spring Break Cruise trip!...Whew that trip was a blast- can we go back????)

On another note: Here is a design I did last week! Enjoy :)

Confidence is Captivating.

So here are a couple of designs that I have done over the past couple of days....Im thinking of starting an Etsy site and selling my prints?? But im not 100% sure of that yet! I just find so much joy in taking inspirational quotes or verses and making them into art with typography!

{I cant remember if ive ever posted my business cards I designed awhile back but here they are!}

{This is one of my favorite quotes by Nina Garcia! I actually was introduced to it by my friend Amy!}

{Sometimes us girls just need a good reminder that we are made PERFECTLY in Gods image..}

My First "Tickle Me Tuesday"!

I was so excited to find out this week that that I won the giveaway of a $20 dollar ITunes gift card off my friend Amys blog All Things Girl! So today is Tickle Me Tuesday and here are a few items that I am LOVING this week! :)

This is a design done by Tank and Tink on Etsy! I just LOVE this 4X6 print that says "I Design Stuff". Being a graphic designer myself, people ALWAYS ask..."So what do you do exactly??", and I always respond with "Uh I design stuff!" So when I saw this I just KNEW I needed to have it! There is also so many other awesome prints for sale that ive already got my eye on in her store! So go check it out!

These orange "Tribal Earrings" from Francesca's are some of my favorite right now! They are perfect for spring and for adding a little extra color to your outfit! If you know me...you know im all about the BIG and fun earrings!

Something else that I am LOVING this week is seeing my Miss Arkansas evening gown dress in the Toney Bowls Spring 2011 Collection! Such an honor!! On a side note: I am in the process of selling all my pageant wear so message me on Facebook if you are interested in any of my dresses and swimsuits :) I promise to give a good deal!

Quilts are not just for your Grandma.

So my birthday is in Apri but my mom has a problem of giving me my birthday gifts SUPER early because  she gets so excited about them! This year I got my very own EEE t-shirt quilt made by a family friend who is amazingly talented with this! As many of you know, when your in a social club or sorority you can acquire tons and tons of t-shirts from every event from every week it seems! This is the perfect solution to saving all the shirts from being stuffed in the back of your closet or thrown into a cardboard box somewhere!

Well I just had to share since i'm absolutely in love with it!! She even added a fun pattern on the back and tassels on the front to give it a special touch! :)

Mad Hatter Mondays.

I don't know about you but on Monday's I sometimes feel a bit like Alice and Wonderland's quirky character: The Mad Hatter.

Mondays, although they come every 7 days, seem to always catch me off guard. I get so caught up in the weekend bliss that when my 6:30 AM alarm screams at me-I begin to go a little "mad." Since I have a love/hate relationship with my snooze button, my "get ready" time in the morning is always cut short which, sadly, always makes for a rushed morning. If you know me at all, you know that one of my big things is that I absolutely can not stand to be rushed. One of my more famous "mad moments" was when I was being rushed to go eat dinner with some friends and I turned around and said loudly "I DO THINGS ON MY OWN TIME!" From that moment...My poor friends did indeed let me do things on my own time but never let me live that moment down. I will admit that it wasn't one of my most loving and patient moments but I do blame it on a combination of lack of sleep mixed with low blood sugar from an adderall induced day.

We all have days like this....days where life throws crazy obstacles your way that sometimes make you feel a little crazy by the end of it. The beautiful thing about this is that God always provides another day to start all over again with. It's kinda like you get to hit the "refresh" button.

But before I end- let me make something clear..."Mad Hatter Mondays" is not always going to be a blog post of me venting or griping about something that is making me go crazy. It could be anything "mad" that I find interesting that week. Like for example....Charlie Sheen. He is a mad man. OR this article on two people getting married over Skype due to a unexpected illness is plain madness to me. Get where im going with this?

So what makes you go "mad" or what is something "mad" that you have come across lately??

Deep in the Heart of Texas.

"The stars at night are big and bright (CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP) deep in the heart of Texassss!!"

Oh hey March.

Can y'all believe its ALREADY March??? Time flies. Goodness.

The month of March is one that is full of exciting birthdays that I will be featuring later on. :)

But for those of you who don't know...  Today is Justin Bieber's Birthday and he is turning the big 1-7. (Still too young for me...darn.)

Now, I normally wouldn't blog about this kid but after seeing his movie, "Never Say Never" with my 9th grade girls during our D-Now weekend- I've become a Bieber Believer. This kids story is one that is a inspiring and motivating and it really does make you appreciate his teeny bopper music a little bit more. So I would encourage you to go see it if you already haven't...its worth the 8 bucks!

 I also follow this teenage heart throb on Twitter and I was so inspired to see what he was doing instead of getting birthday gifts! Check it out....

He has already raised $28,711.23 and counting surpassing his $17,000 goal! Celebrity or not...That is pretty cool. I never realized how many people go without clean water on a daily basis. We take little things like that for granted everyday without even realizing it. The video on the website is such an eye opener!

Well I just realized that I basically have a blog post dedicated to Justin Bieber. I wasn't intending for that in anyway but it is what it is!
