{{1st Edition of Faith Friday}}

Yesterday I came home from a busy and stressful day at work to find that I had WON a huge August Group Giveaway over at Heathers blog Glitter and Gloss

I hardly ever enter giveaways thinking "Oh I won't win..I never win anything." but I simply couldn't resist with this one! She had some awesome stuff up for grabs by her sponsors! I'm a huge fan of her blog and her famous "Mani Monday" link up so when I saw that I had won I think I squealed like a 7 year old girl and then called my mom and best friend acting like I had won the lottery. Because in a small way in my mind- I did.

Like I said folks, It was a stressful day so this was a nice turn of events for me!

------------------------------------

On a different note- I have wanted  to do this free download series for a while now. I look at people selling scripture prints for $20 bucks a pop and I just can't help but think that simple scripture prints should be available to anybody and everybody.

For free.

So this is the 1st edition of Bloom Design's "Faith Friday". I decided to feature the verse Jeremiah 29:13 this week! Be on the lookout every Friday for a new printable!

 Because let's be honest...When Friday rolls around- we can all use a little scripture encouragement :)

{To download simple click on the print you want and print them out on an 8.5 x11 sheet of paper! The prints are sized at 8x10 so you will have to do some cropping down if you want to frame}

Dreaming in Watercolor.

I took an illustration class in college that about made me cry on a daily basis. I was use to hanging up my artwork on the board that I had worked on day in and day out only to have it ripped to pieces verbally by my professor and classmates- but this class was something else. I like to think that the professor just had it out for me but I have to be honest...I was just downright horrible at it. I was use to drawing on a computer NOT with an illustration pen and paper. So needless to say- I wont be designing the artwork for a children's book anytime soon...

But besides the fact that this class terrified me every Tuesday and Thursday, we actually got to work a little with water color which I surprisingly ended up falling in love with. I wont proclaim to be good at it but now whenever I come across it- I can't help but be drawn to it.

"Mom to Bee" Baby Shower Invites

The air conditioning is out at work today.

If you are experiencing 107+ degree heat like we are here in Texas- then you feel my pain right now. My makeup is melting off....my arms are sticking to my desk and my curls are fallen and sad looking. I am in desperate need of a fan or a massive block of ice that I can sit my butt on instead of my rollie-chair.

Blah. But I can't complain-- at least I'm not pregnant during this heat. That would be tragic and my diva side would come out with a vengeance. So major props to all you pregnant people out there sticking it out while living on the face of the sun.

I felt like these invites were perfect for a hot August baby shower since I only see bee's when its super hot outside. These invites were done for my friend's friend who lives out in Houston! The theme was "Mom to Bee"! How cute is that?!

Mani Monday- Pink & Glitter

This is my very first Mani Monday and I have to say- I am so excited! For some reason- I have become obsessed with painting my nails over the past 9 months. For the longest time I was the girl who ALWAYS had acrylic nails until I got married and decided my budget was more important then having fake nails. So as a way to save money- I ended up buying a ton of polish and painting my nails like an OCD crack addict.

{So ummm..maybe im not really saving THAT much now that im thinking about it...But whatever- that's besides the point.}

The polish I used this week is
1. Essie topcoat "a cut above" (on the right)
2. Essie "mob square" (on the left)

It only takes two coats of the pink and one coat of the glitter polish to have the perfect look/make your fingers look like mini Easter eggs.

{The glitter definitely sparkles when it hits the light just right!}

"Grad Story" Announcement

Okay first off...Yes, I have completely changed up my branding and I could not be happier! Want to know the inside scoop on why I decided on the name Bloom Designs? Click here!

Anytime I get to incorporate my love for typography into a fun design- I get giddy. I can't help it- I'm a sucker for fun fonts. So naturally, when I was asked to do a graduation announcement in the form of my "Love Story" prints I was super pumped. This is a 5x7 announcement printed on linen paper!

What a fun way to tell people you are graduating while also giving them the "spark notes" version the last four years of your life and your plans for the future all in one card!

invest time into your passions

{I love this quote by Julia Child. Mainly because its true and mainly because I like the word "tremendously".}

I need this!

{As a graphic designer, its always important to invest in awesome books like the one above for inspiration and to remember that somebody out there in the world is way better at drawing free hand typography than you. Just one of the many things I wish I had time to work on!}

me and @Amy Wentz are so doing this next time we are together :)

{Thank goodness for other cheap people in the world. This blog post shows you how to recreate these Anthro gems without breaking your bank. }

60 miles in three days? I can do that.

Many of you guys may know- but on Novemeber 2-4th I will be walking....

60 miles in 3 days.

Am I crazy? Yes. It is for an amazing cause? Heck yes.

Last year around Christmas- my lifelong best friend, Carly Beckham, approached me about participating in this walk with her. I knew it would be a process and commitment to raise $4,600 total for us to both participate in the walk, along with many hours of actual walking to prepare for the 3 day journey.....but I also knew it was something I wanted to be apart of. So I accepted the challenge.

{Carly & I}

If you not sure what the Susan G. Koman 3-Day Walk is all about I encourage you to check out the short video below! It explains and gives an insight into what Carly and I will be doing in those 3 days. I promise it will be hard to have a dry eye by the end of watching it!

Nobody in the Briscoe family has ever been affected by breast cancer that I know of, but lets be honest- I am so over any kind of cancer in general. I feel like every time I turn around I learn that somebody new has cancer or is in the middle of the fight to beat it. So if I can personally raise $2,300 to put a dent in funding breast cancer research and potentially help find a cure- I'm all for it.

Knowing that Carly and I had a long fundraising road ahead of us- We decided to make some t-shirts and have all the profits go towards our overall fundraising goals. Thanks to so many friends and family and one huge garage sale- together we have raised over $2,800 of our $4,300 goal and we could not feel more blessed! We are so ahead of the game at this point- BUT we still have a lot left to raise.

We are selling the t-shirts for $20 each and 100% of the profit goes towards our ultimate goal of $4,600. If you would like to purchase one please email bethanytoney1021@gmail.com and we will make arrangements to get your shirt to you either via shipping or local dropoff (if you are in the Plano/Frisco/McKinney) area. Below is a shot of what the back of the shirt looks like!

Also, you can always make donations directly by clicking HERE! Every dollar counts and we are blessed by each donation!!

Another way you can help Carly and I out is simply pray for us on those three days. Pray that we encounter people along the walk that need to hear the Hope and Love of Jesus Christ! Because even after all the funds have been raised...and the walk is over....Jesus is and will always be our ultimate healer.
